Orava Castle
Orava Castle is situated on a high rock above the Orava river in the village Oravský Podzámok ("under the castle"), Slovakia of which Dolná Lehota is jointly administered. The castle was built in the Kingdom of Hungary, with the oldest parts being built in the thirteenth century and the most recent parts in the early seventeenth century. Many scenes of the 1922 silent film Nosferatu were filmed here. Nosferatu is the first Dracula movie and is an unauthorized and unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. More recently, the 2020 TV adaption of Stoker's novel was used as a filming location.
